No-shows leave gaps in your schedule — but accept too many extra bookings and one day everyone turns up. This calculator tells you how many bookings you can safely accept for the slots you have, based on your no-show rate and how much risk you’re comfortable with.
Estimates assume each booking is independent. If your no-shows cluster (bad weather, school holidays), lean towards the cautious setting.
How this works
Airlines have done this for decades: when some customers reliably don’t show up, you can sell a few more seats than you have — as long as you know the odds. The calculator works out, for every possible number of bookings, the chance that more customers arrive than you have slots, and picks the highest number that stays within your chosen risk level.
The better fix: fewer no-shows
Overbooking fills the gaps, but it doesn’t fix the leak. Automated SMS and web reminders consistently cut no-show rates — and every percentage point you recover is revenue without any overflow risk. Our appointment system sends reminders automatically and slots walk-ins into any gaps that remain, so an empty slot rarely stays empty.
